아티스트 소개

오스트리아 빈에 있는 합창단이다.
1498년 막시밀리언 1세의 칙령에 따라 빈 궁정성당에 소속된 성가대로서 조직되는것으로 시작되었다.
525년의 오랜역사를 지니고 있으며 세계 3대 합창단이다
10살에서부터 14살 사이에 100여명의 소년으로 구성되어있다. 빈 필하모닉 오케스트라 및 빈 국립 오페라 합창단과 함께, 빈 소년합창단은 황실 음악가의 전통을 유지하고 있다. 궁정악단으로서 그들은 1498년 이래 시작된 전통에 따라 매주 일요일마다 빈 황실교회에서 장엄미사를 부른다.

이 합창단의 연주를 들은 교황 비오 11세는 "마치 천사의 노래를 듣는 것 같다"고 극찬한 바 있어 그 이후로 이 합창단을 '천사의 소리'라고도 부르게 되었다. 비브라토가 없는 맑고 깨끗한 소년 특유의 목소리 때문에 전세계 많은 사람들에게 사랑받고 있다.
